CAS Actuarial Professional Analysis

Thank you for participating in the Actuarial Professional Analysis survey!

The purpose of this survey is to understand the knowledge required to perform the job of a property and casualty actuary. The task statements that you will review represent the knowledge currently tested in the exam pathway, as well as some new statements indicated as important from volunteer focus groups. Your answers on the survey will help us understand:

  • Which knowledge is pertinent to the everyday practice of an actuary?
  • How often is that knowledge used?
  • How important is that knowledge for successful performance on the job?
  • How is that knowledge best learned?

Having this information from a sample of actuaries with different specialties, levels of experience, geographic locations, and educational backgrounds will allow us to understand which knowledge should be tested and how. This survey will provide valuable information that is vital to updating CAS's current exam pathway and educational offerings.

You do not need to hold an ACAS or FCAS credential to participate; if you work in or have a familiarity with the property and casualty actuarial field, we want your expertise!

This survey will take approximately 20-60 minutes to complete (depending on random generation of topics). While you can complete the survey on a smart phone, the format of some questions may require side-to-side scrolling, and therefore we recommend using a computer, laptop, or tablet to provide your response. You can leave the survey and come back so you do not need to complete the survey in one sitting.
